Bonny Downs Wind Farm Project
RC Construction was engaged to deliver critical foundation works for the Bonney Downs Wind Farm, a renewable energy project located near Nullagine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The project forms part of renewable energy infrastructure supporting Fortescue’s transition towards sustainable power generation.
The project required detailed planning, coordination and execution in a remote environment, with works commencing through the prefabrication and assembly of turbine anchor bolt cages ahead of on-site installation.
RC Construction scope of work consisted of the following:
- Prefabrication and assembly of turbine anchor bolt cages
- Supply and installation of reinforcement
- Supply and installation of formwork
- Concrete placement works
- Construction of 51 pile cap foundations
- Foundation works supporting 17 wind turbines
- Remote site construction and logistics coordination
The delivery of the Bonney Downs Wind Farm foundation package demonstrates RC Construction’s capability to safely execute complex reinforcement, formwork and concrete works for renewable energy developments in remote locations while supporting Aboriginal employment outcomes and regional project delivery.
